Our Missions

Missions
One of our three key values at Mosaic United Methodist Church is joyful service. We value joyfully serving alongside our neighbors to bring compassion, justice, and equity to our community and our world. We are partnering
with several local non-profits to respond to God’s love and help our local neighbors.

Current Mission Partnerships

Mosaic UMC has adopted Hamilton Elementary School. Our mission is to provide support to both the staff and students, fostering an environment of empowerment, growth, and success. Our support includes surprise goodies and notes of gratitude for the staff; donations of school supplies for the children; volunteer opportunities in the library and in a reading mentoring program, as well as other events throughout the school year.

Cy-Hope’s Mission is to being hope to at-risk children. They have many programs to help feed and encourage those children who can use some extra care. Some of the ways Mosaic UMC partners with Cy-Hope is through the Food Back-Pack Delivery Program, assisting with supplying kids snacks and school supplies, volunteering at special events, and helping with Christmas gifts for the children.

Cypress Area Ministries (CAM) was established in 1990 and has provided many services to Cypress area families, including a food pantry, resale shop, financial assistance, school supplies, meals and more. Their goal is to move individuals and families to self-sufficiency. Our partnership includes opportunities to assist with deliveries, to serve at the Donation Center or Angels Attic, as well as to be a part of events like the Food Fair and the Back to School Jam.

The Mission of Yahweh actively serves homeless women and children in Houston. It is a faith-based shelter that empowers, enriches and restores the lives of homeless women and children, and provides outreach services to communities. Our partnership with Mission of Yahweh includes volunteer opportunities in the areas of serving a lunch, hosting crafts, adopting a child for Christmas gifting, serving as Christmas Morning Elves, as well as providing many donation drives throughout the year.

Hope Disaster Recovery’s mission is to help vulnerable communities recover from disaster. Disasters can come in many forms that include natural/weather disasters, man-made disasters, and poverty. The elderly are especially impacted by all disasters as many are on a low/fixed income. Mosaic UMC has a wonderful opportunity to walk alongside Hope Disaster Recovery and help the living conditions of people who are most vulnerable in our community. Our Helping Hands Team provides serving opportunities through a scheduled home repair activity once per quarter, and serving on an ongoing “light repair” function for the elderly.
